Private Advisor Group 2016 Majors Champions

PAG had a roller-coaster of a season… Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. #7 Seed team becomes the Majors champion.  By all rights, PAG’s season should have ended like many of their regular season games - competitive but coming up short.  Other team managers noticed the talent on the team and commented that PAG is better than their record and we don’t look forward to facing them. Those were telling words as PAG kept chipping away and in the end, their talent and teamwork was rewarded with the title of 2016 MNLL Major League Champions.

The players played hard and received lots of coaching - a mixture of old and new voices were present throughout practices and games. But coaching didn’t make this team champions – the boys did – ALL the boys did. From the rookies Justin Joyce and Thomas Manahan with new additions Marcus Beckler, the Murphy boys, Peter and Robbie (no relation) through the returning veterans Wil, Cole, Emmett, Nick, Nolan & Francis - all hitting their stride at the right time.  PAG & LockedIn treated everyone to a great 3 game Championship series. After a devastating loss in Game 1, the most stunning series of accomplishments unfolded as Will Galbraith evened the series by throwing a complete game of 81 pitches, holding the big bats of LockedIn to 3 runs on 6 hits to win Game2 of the Championship series. Then in Game 3, Cole Weintraub sealed the deal by pitching one of the best games ever - a complete game with 59 pitches, resulting in a 7 to 1 victory and the Championship!

There is no sure thing in baseball but as Yogi Berra said, “It ain’t over till it’s over” and the PAG boys proved that!

Go PAG in 2017!
