Since 1951 Morristown National Little League has been serving boys and girls from the Morristown & Morris Township area. MNLL provides children a safe and fun environment to learn both baseball & softball, while also providing team play and competitive advancement. Hosted by MHS Head Baseball Coach Ed Collins - Ed was an All-State baseball and football player at Union HS, NJ. He was then drafted in the 9th round by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1994. Ed also played professionally for the Florida Marlins and NJ Jackals organizations. Ed brings over 15 years of coaching/instructing to Locked In and is currently the head coach at Morristown HS.
Review of Player Development Guide and Sample Practice Plans
Walk through very basic skills and drills, using experienced players to demonstrate drills and skills (running, throwing, fielding, catching, hitting)
Stress importance of having a plan and leveraging new pitcher certification process and on-field professional support now being offered by MNLL/LI.
There will also be a First Aid and Safety Update presented by Dominic Petrozza for the Morris Minute Men.
MNLL pitcher certification confirms player, coach and parent understanding of basic mechanics of pitching along with basic drills identified in the MNLL Player Development Guide. The goal is to help avoid arm injuries for young pitchers and to boost the quality of play, which in turn boosts the enjoyment of the game for all players on the field.

All sessions are walk-in and players are expected to attend a minimum of two sessions (don’t need to be consecutive) prior to gaining their MNLL certification. Certification will not be required to pitch this year, but will be highly encouraged for any AA/AAA players who would like to pitch. Coaches and Parents are also encouraged to attend to be able to reinforce proper basic pitching mechanics on the field.
